Nominate Students for a "Life-Changing Experience!"

"While I gave a week of my time and effort, I took home a lifetime of lessons."
- CEP Participant

The Civic Education Project's spring and summer programs are designed to help promising students in grades 7-12 develop the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills they need to make a positive impact on the world.

We are currently accepting nominations to help us identify outstanding middle and high school students who have an interest in civic engagement. Once nominated, students will be sent a personalized invitation to apply to one of our innovative programs.

Who Can Nominate Students?
Nominations are accepted from teachers, counselors, school administrators, youth organization professionals, and CEP program alumni in good standing. These individuals are in the best position to help us identify promising young people who have the greatest potential to gain from and contribute to a CEP program. We do not accept self-nominations.

Who Are We Looking For?

In general, students who are most likely to succeed in a CEP program:

  • are currently in 7th - 12th grade;
  • can demonstrate a high level of academic ability;
  • have a sincere interest in learning about communities, social issues, and active citizenship;
  • are mature, sincere, and highly motivated.

For more information on student eligibility for CEP programs, check out posted information on our CivicWeek, Civic Leadership Institute, and Youth & Society programs.

What Happens Next?
Nominated students will receive a personalized invitation to apply to one of our innovative programs. A letter will note the program for which they have been nominated and the name of their nominator. Nominated students have the opportunity to participate in a streamlined application process and are not required to submit an additional recommendation with their program application materials.
