Gifted LearningLinks for Schools
This information applies only to students who are enrolling as part of a school group. Every school strives to give its bright, accelerated students the challenging coursework that they need. But sometimes financial and staff constraints limit the number of options a school can offer. To help schools provide a flexible solution for academically talented students who need a challenge, Center for Talent Development offers Gifted LearningLinks for Schools. Through this program, students may enroll in online enrichment, high school Honors, and AP® courses and work either independently or in small groups while at school during a free period or study hall, after school and/or at home. A special tuition rate is available for school districts and home-school groups that sign up five or more students for classes with the same start date. CTD will discount the tuition for each student by 10%, excluding the application fee. For enrichment courses, the discounted total is $388.50 per student. For Honors and AP® courses, the discounted total is $703.50 per student. To apply for the group discount, schools must fill out the GLL School Group Applications Cover Sheet available here. School group applications may not be submitted online. Payment may be made by credit card, check or purchase order. If students will be working on their courses during school hours, the school must ensure that students will have access to the appropriate technology, such as a properly-maintained computer with broadband Internet access, a stable e-mail account that does not filter messages from GLL staff or teachers, and a recent-version Web browser (such as Explorer 6, Firefox, or Safari) that is cookie- and Java-enabled and does not block pop-up windows. It is strongly recommended that school groups be assigned an in-school supervisor who can assist students with the technology and/or subject matter. CTD will provide an orientation to Blackboard and the Gifted LearningLinks course format for in-school supervisors at participating schools. Performance issues will also be addressed through the designated school liaison.
