Gifted Education Boot Camp for Educators Spring 2025
Advanced learners have educational needs that require educators and administrators to have specialized knowledge and skill sets. They also need high-quality talent-development focused gifted education programs. For those new to gifted education or looking for the latest research and practices, Center for Talent Development (CTD) at Northwestern University has developed professional learning for teachers and coordinators that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to identify exceptional academic talent, develop their gifted and talented curriculum, provide appropriate instruction, and help students achieve optimal growth.
The Boot Camp for Educators 15-hour training is available virtually.
Boot Camp can also be offered locally for groups of educators from a particular school or district, making use of online, in-person, or hybrid approaches. ISBE Professional Development Hours are available.

- Inclusive, asset-based best practices for working with advanced learners
- Challenging and engaging advanced students using differentiated approaches
- Effective identification of abilities and learning needs
- Assessment and growth monitoring
- Acceleration, enrichment, and rigorous curriculum
- Grouping and differentiating instruction
- Social-emotional needs and psychosocial skill development
Boot Camp Dates and Schedule
Spring: march 10 – 21, 2025
This Boot Camp session is an online program with mostly asynchronous activities. Three, hour-long synchronous sessions will be scheduled at times determined by the cohort (encouraged, but not required). The remainder of the activities are on-demand so as to allow for maximum flexibility and personalized learning.

Cost: $495 per person; $395 per person for groups of 3 or more registered from the same school or district; $395 for current CTD instructors; $395 for current SESP students
