This is a 2 credit equivalent, flexibly paced, asynchronous Advanced Placement course within the Online Advanced Placement (AP®) Program. Students can expect 6-8 hours of coursework per week and have 30-34 weeks to complete the course depending on start date. Session dates: January 24 - August 15, 2024.
Students will learn about the world’s history from multiple perspectives and historical analysis. While honing critical research and analysis skills, students will understand the nature of historical and global processes. Primary and secondary sources combined with rigorous online discussions and analytical essays are used to examine the impact of interactions among and within major societies. The relationship of change and continuity, systems of social structure, cultural, religious and intellectual developments, and the function and structures of states are interwoven throughout this course. This course will prepare students to take the AP® World History: Modern exam.
Prerequisites: 1 Yr High School History AND 1 Yr High School English
