Sandra Dennhardt Technology Scholarship

The Sandra Dennhardt Technology Scholarship provides a tuition scholarship for a student with financial need who enrolls in a qualifying technology course in one of CTD's three-week Academic Summer Day and Residential Camp. Depending upon the funds available and the application pool, one or more students may receive partial tuition scholarships. Eligible courses in 2023 include:

  • Code Your Own Adventure (Grades 6-8)
  • GIS Software Application (Grades 6-8)
  • iOS Bootcamp & SwiftUI Development with MobilemakersEdu (Grades 6-8)
  • CPU Architecture with Windy City Labs (Grades 9-12)
  • IoT Engineering with Windy City Labs (Grades 9-12)
  • Introduction to Cybersecurity (Grades 9-12)
  • Machine Learning Seminar (Grades 9-12)

Eligibility

Students who meet the academic entrance criteria for CTD's 3-week Academic Summer Day and Residential Camps, receive acceptance to a qualifying technology course, and demonstrate financial need are eligible for the scholarship.

Application Procedure

To apply, complete the online application form. As part of the application, students must create a brief essay (250-500 words) indicating that they would like to apply for the scholarship, detailing their interest in technology, and how this course will help advance their learning goals and talent development in the area of computer programming or information technology. Essays may be in written form or other media (e.g. 30 second audio, video). If you are not applying for financial aid, parents/guardians must also submit a brief statement (a paragraph or two) describing the need for financial support. 

Application Deadline

Applications are due by April 15.
